Vermont Academy Claim Victory Over Holderness

Vermont Academy beat Holderness 7-3 on Saturday.
 
Vermont Academy were the first to get on the board in the first when Lucas  Sinacola hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
 
Jacob Duval grounded out, which helped Holderness tie the game at one in the bottom of the third.
 
Holderness captured the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the fourth after Ryan Nolan singled, and Jack Welby singled, each scoring one run.
 
Vermont Academy flipped the game on its head in the top of the fifth, scoring five runs on two hits to take a 6-3 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Logan Sinacola that drove in two.
 
Logan Sinacola earned the win for Vermont Academy Varsity Wildcats. The reliever allowed one hit and zero runs over three and one-third innings, striking out one and walking none. Duval took the loss for Holderness. He went one-third of an inning, giving up three runs on two hits, striking out none and walking one. Milo Tucker stepped on the bump first for Vermont Academy. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and three runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one. Zander Doyle stepped on the hill first for Holderness. The starting pitcher allowed zero hits and one run over two and two-thirds innings, striking out none and walking five.
 
Logan Sinacola provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Vermont Academy with three runs batted in. The shortstop went 2-for-4 on the day. Lucas Sinacola led Vermont Academy with four walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying 14 walks for the game. Vermont Academy turned one double play in the game.
 
Welby  and Matt Fede each collected two hits for Holderness. Welby , Nolan, and Duval each drove in one run for Holderness. Holderness turned one double play in the game.
 
Vermont Academy play at home on Wednesday against Brewster Academy in their next game. First pitch is at 4:00.
