  • Step 1: INQUIRE

    Please complete the inquiry form on our Inquiry page and tell us about yourself and interests. Once we receive your form we will send you materials so you can learn more about our community.
  • Step 2: VISIT AND INTERVIEW

    To schedule a tour and interview, please contact our admissions office at (802) 869-6229 or admissions@vermontacademy.org. Learn more about what to expect here.

    An interview is a required step in the admissions process at Vermont Academy. If traveling to campus is not an option, we can schedule an interview through Zoom once an application has been submitted.

  • Step 3: APPLY 

    The completed application includes:
    • Candidate profile
    • Student essays
    • Parent statement
    • School report with transcript
    • Current English teacher recommendation
    • Current math teacher recommendation
    • Personal recommendation (optional)
    • Application fee
    Any students with diagnosed learning differences are asked to submit any educational or social evaluation, IEP, 504, or other materials that apply.

    Vermont Academy offers two application options:
    *Note: SSAT scores are optional. However, we require an English Proficiency Exam (Duolingo preferred) for students whose first language is not English.

    International Applicants: For applicants who are not native English-speakers and/or have not attended a school where English is the language of instruction during the last three years, Vermont Academy requires an English Proficiency Exam.

    Vermont Academy welcomes applications from all qualified applicants.   • Below you will find the application deadlines for the 2025-2026 Academic Year.

  • Early Action Deadline - January 1

    Applications (including financial aid applications) should be completed by January 1, 2025, to be included in early action decisions. Acceptances are non-binding. Offers will be open until the deadline for regular decision (April 10).
  • Regular Admission Deadline - February 1

    Applications (including financial aid applications) should be completed by February 1, 2025, to be included in regular admission decisions.
  • After February 1, applications are considered on a rolling basis.

  • Admission Decisions and Enrollment

    Admission and financial aid awards are made available on January 15, 2025 for Early Action and March 10, 2025 for Regular Decision via email. The deadline to return an enrollment contract and deposit is April 10, 2025, unless stated otherwise on the student’s contract.
