Bio
Bo Oshoniyi serves as Director of Soccer, Head Coach of Boys' Varsity Soccer, and Associate Director of Admissions at Vermont Academy. With more than two decades of experience developing student-athletes at the collegiate, professional, and national team levels, Bo is passionate about helping young people pursue excellence both on and off the field.
Throughout his coaching career, Bo has held leadership positions at some of the nation's top NCAA Division I programs, including Wake Forest University, Penn State University, the University of South Florida, East Tennessee State University, and Dartmouth College. He has also worked with the U.S. Youth National Teams, identifying and developing elite young talent while mentoring players pursuing collegiate, professional, and international opportunities.
As a player, Bo competed at both the collegiate and professional levels, experiences that continue to shape his perspective as a coach and mentor. His teams have competed for conference championships, national championships, and professional titles, and he has coached numerous players who have gone on to successful careers in Major League Soccer, professional leagues around the world, and with their national teams.
Bo believes that soccer is one of life's greatest classrooms. His coaching philosophy is centered on developing the whole person—building character, leadership, resilience, discipline, and accountability alongside technical and tactical excellence. He strives to create an environment where student-athletes are challenged to become confident competitors, exceptional teammates, and compassionate leaders who are prepared for success long after their playing careers end.
In his admissions role, Bo enjoys building relationships with prospective students and families, sharing the transformational experience of a Vermont Academy education, and helping students discover a community where they can thrive academically, athletically, and personally.
Outside of soccer, Bo enjoys mentoring young coaches, following the global game, spending time with his family, and exploring the outdoors in New England.
