Powerful Pitching Performance From Kaiden McCarthy Carries Vermont Academy Past Proctor Academy

Kaiden McCarthy struck out 12 batters as the starting pitcher led Vermont Academy past Proctor Academy 8-1 on Friday. McCarthy gave up four hits and one run over five innings while walking one.
 
Proctor were the first to get on the board in the first when a passed ball scored one run.
 
Vermont Academy jumped into the lead in the bottom of the third when Aiden Garvey drew a walk, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs.
 
Ian Rosenshine took the loss for Proctor Academy. He went four innings, allowing seven runs (five earned) on zero hits, striking out three and walking eight. Eli Boxer tossed two innings of no-run ball for Vermont Academy in relief. Eli gave up zero hits, striking out one and walking two.
 
John Velto and Zach Scherler were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for Vermont Academy. Velto, Scherler, and Garvey each drove in one run for Vermont Academy. Boxer led Vermont Academy with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting nine walks for the game. Milo Tucker and McCarthy each stole multiple bases for Vermont Academy. Vermont Academy ran wild on the base paths, tallying eight stolen bases for the game.
 
Aidan Myers went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Proctor in hits. Proctor turned one double play in the game.
