Wildcats Comeback Isn’t Enough to Down Hill

The Wildcats looked to bounce back on Saturday night after a loss to Northwood on Friday afternoon. They faced off with The Hill School of Pottstown, PA at 6 p.m.

Hill dominated the first period holding the Wildcats to a mere six shots on net, and scoring halfway through the period. However, in the second period, Vermont bounced back generating some scoring opportunities, though the Hill goalie stood tall stopping all 15 shots she faced. Hill was able to add two goals in the second to increase their lead to three. The Wildcats did not give up scoring six minutes into the third. Kaltounkova ’20 scored off of a feed from Citera ’21 and Brooks ’23. The Wildcats added a second 40 seconds later Brooks ’23 had the goal and Kaltounkova ’20 the assist. Vermont pushed to tie the game but was unable to and fell 2-3.

Paquin ’22 made 32 saves in net for the Wildcats, and Kaltounkova ’20 moved closer to tying the all-school record for points. Vermont travels south to The Gunnery on Wednesday for a 4:30 p.m. matchup. The Wildcats look to improve on their loss to the Hilltoppers earlier this year.
