VA Falls to Northwood

On Friday afternoon the Wildcats faced off with the Northwood School (Lake Placid, NY). Northwood plays in the North American Prep Hockey Association (NAPHA) playing 40+ games a year. 

The game started out at a fast pace with both teams ready to prove themselves. The shots were close in the first period with Northwood taking the edge. They were able to capitalize late in the first period to go up 0-1. In the second period, Northwood added three goals to their lead. In the third Northwood added their final goal of the game four minutes into the period. Halfway through the last frame, Kaltoukova ’20 was rewarded a penalty shot in which she scored to get the Wildcats on the board. The Wildcats were unable to add another late in the game and fell 1-5 to Northwood. 

Northwood outshot the Wildcats 39-22. Sequi ’21 made 34 saves on the 39 shots. The Wildcats are back in action tomorrow vs. The Hill School at 6 p.m.
