Monday Night Win at Pingree

On Monday, February 10th the Wildcats traveled to the North Shore of Boston for a 4:50 p.m. make up game vs. Pingree School. 

The game started slow after the three-hour bus ride, however, Kaltounkova ’20 opened up the scoring about five minutes in. Scoring her 137th Vermont Academy goal, passing Chloe Aurard’s 136th to take sole possession of most goals in school history (both boys and girls). Small ’23 had the assist on her first of the period and Powers ’22 had the assist on the second. Citera ’21 added the lone goal of the second period burying a rebound off of a Keller ’20 shot from the point. 

In the third Walsh ’22 scored a short-handed goal (the first of the season) to increase Vermont’s lead to four. D. McCarthy ’22 added a goal later in the third off of a feed from Walsh ’22 and Kaltounkova ’20. Kaltounkova ’20 added the 6th goal of the game and her 139th off of a D. McCarthy ’22 pass. Paquin ’22 earned her second shutout of the season-saving all 16 shots she faced. 

Vermont is back in action on Wednesday, February 12 as they travel to Tilton School for a 3 p.m. Lakes Region matchup.
