First Lakes Region Win of the Year

On Saturday afternoon the Wildcats traveled to Proctor Academy for their first Lakes Region game of the year. Puck drop was at 5 p.m.

The Wildcats came out strong scoring halfway into the first period. Walsh ’22 had the goal with an assist from Kaltounkova ’20. In the second period, VA continued to keep up the pressure adding another three goals. The first was scored by Jandusikova ’20 from Rogers ’20 and Kaltounkova ’20. Spring ’22 added the second from Brooks ’23, and Kaltounkova ’20 topped the period off with a goal with assists from Spring ’22 and Bazin ’22.

The third period was filled with back and forth play. Vermont opened the scoring with a Walsh ’22 goal from Kaltounkova ’20. However, Proctor was able to strike back three minutes later, scoring on a breakaway. Late in the third period, Creamer ’21 scored her first of the year off of a feed from Kaltounkova ’20.

Paquin ’22 earned her first win as a Wildcat stopping 16 of the 17 shots she faced. The Wildcats are back in action next weekend as they head down to Connecticut for the Second Annual VA Holiday Showcase. The schedule for the weekend is:
