First Win of the Season

Vermont Academy traveled to Conway Ice Arena in Troy, NY to take on the Hoosac School Owls. Puck drop was slated for 5 p.m. but was pushed back ten minutes due to road conditions.

The Wildcats came out strong scoring within the first thirty seconds of the game. Kaltounkova ‘20 had the goal from Small ‘23. Spring ‘22 was able to add another in the first period, her first goal as a Wildcat. The period finished with the Wildcats up 2-1.

The Wildcats controlled most of the game exploding in the third period, scoring four goals to add to the four scored in the first two periods of the game. Scoring came from:

5: Kaltounkova ‘20 from Walsh ‘22 and Jandusikova ‘20
6: Small ‘23 from Kaltounkova ‘20
7: Kaltounkova ‘20 from Keller ‘20
8: Spring ‘22 from Brooks ‘23 and Kaltounkova ‘20

Small ‘23 also scored her first goal in black and orange, while Brooks ‘23 recorded her first two assists. Kaltounkova ‘20 had a career-high 8 points, with four goals and four assists. Spring ‘22 received the player of the game for her efforts.

The Wildcats are back in action tomorrow as they are on the road against Proctor Academy for their first Lakes Region matchup of the year. Puck drop is at 5 p.m. in Andover, NH.
