Girls’ Hockey Community Service at Kurn Hattin

On Saturday, October 5th the girls’ varsity hockey team, led by the 2019-2020 captains, traveled to Kurn Hattin for an afternoon of community service and team building.
While in Westminster, VT the girls broke up into two teams that competed against each other. When one team stacked wood the other team made apple cider. After 30 minutes, the teams switched tasks. They had to come up with a strategy, then divide and conquer the task. After both teams completed each task the score was tied so they played a heated game of memory to break it. Team Orange came out on top in the end.

Four-year senior captain, Gigi ’20 said, “Our community service project at Kurn Hattin was fun and exciting, it felt good to give back to the community and bond as a team, and the apple cider was delicious!” Three- year senior captain Klara ’20 added, “it was interesting to learn about the process in which apple cider is made, and a lot of fun to make it as a team. It was great to bond as a team and help out the community at the same time.”

Students involved include Gigi ’20, Kalty ’20, Klara ’20, Jordan ’20, Ella T. ’20, Caroline ’20, Kelly C. ’21, Anais ’21, Kelly M. ’21, Izzy ’21, Maggie H. ’21, Jaz C. ’21, Maika ’22, Jessica ’22, Riley W. ’22, Grace B. ’22, Danielle ’22, Jenna ’22, Lexi F. ’22, Liv ’23, and Julia ’23.
