Vermont Academy kicked off its home campaign against a strong Proctor side on Alumni Weekend. With fan support for the first time, Vermont Academy came out flying. Utilizing the wide areas on the field, the Wildcats were able to stretch the Proctor defense and score two early chances. It looked like it would be a comfortable afternoon for the Wildcats until the momentum swung quite drastically following two clear defensive mistakes by the Wildcats. Once the Hornets found the equalizer, heads went down and the Wildcats unraveled. Before they could regain composure, the game was already out of reach.
