Spoon Game

The long standing Vermont Academy spring tradition, the spoon game, has begun! While many students and faculty are enjoying the warmer weather others are holding their plastic spoons tight and on high alert until 10:30 p.m. every day.
Spoon Game Rules:
-Tap with spoon to eliminate a player
-Can’t eliminate a player if they are holding a spoon
-If the spoon is not in full sight, the player can be eliminated
-You cannot tie/tape the spoon to your hand or wrap it around your finger
-The spoon game starts at 8 am and ends at 10:30 pm
-When you eliminate your target, you will then take on their target
-Targets will be switched every other week

Towards the end of the trimester, if there is no winner, the game goes into free for all mode. You will be able to go after anyone who is still alive. If there are still multiple people standing at the end of the year, the player with the most tags will get the win. The winner will get half of the total amount of money raised.

This year’s co-spoon master Sarah Jacobelli ’19 said, “the Spoon Game requires you to be light, quick, and crafty. It brings out the best of people, and forces you to consider all possible angles. There’s nothing better than the satisfaction of tagging out your target, and watching them slowly fall to their knees and weep over their forgetfulness.” Co-spoon master Patrick Ogden ’19 said, “the spoon game is a great way to bring the community together in the last few weeks of school. It fun, competitive, and anyone can play.”
