LR SS #1 at Crotched Mt

John Kelly
Our first freestyle competition this season was hosted by Dublin School at Crotched Mountain in Bennington, New Hampshire. The team was fired up to put their well practiced freestyle moves to the test, after 2 plus months of preparation. The course had two rail/grind box tiers and 2 jump tiers. The girls team, led by Lucy Saunders '19, rode to their first team win of the season, besting the other 5 girls teams in attendance. Lucy put a solid run together, using the more challenging line, to finish in 3rd. Kalaya Hudziec '22, rode confidently in her first slopestyle comp to finish in 4th. On the boys side our veterans were challenged to put clean runs together and our newer riders rose to the occasion in their first freestyle competitions. The boys finished 4th of the 9 schools at the event. Our top boys finisher was Matt Bartelli '19 in 16th, followed by Samson Orlinsky '20, in 17th, Logan McAllister '20 in 23rd, Mark Hansen '19 in 26th, Maurice Day '21, in 27th place, and Aaron Brown '20, in 32nd. It was great to see the team enjoying a beautiful winter day in the terrain park and showing the fruits of their labor. After winter long weekend we're headed to Cannon Mountain for a slopestyle hosted by White Mountain School on 2/6. 130 pm start. Come out and witness the action.
