Win Over Ironbound

In their second game of the Prep Meets Club Holiday Tournament, VA faced off against a tough Ironbound U16 (New Jersey) team at Ingalls Arena. Izzy Segui ’21 earned the start in net. With less than five minutes left in the first period VA was able to put one in the back of the net. Walsh ’22 scored off a feed from Citera ’21 and Creamer ’21. In the second period both teams battled hard, the Wildcats were able to double their lead off a goal from Streed ’19 set up by McCarthy ’22. Ironbound wouldn’t give up as they cut the lead in half halfway into the third period. However, the Wildcats were able to hold on for the 2-1 win. The Wildcats are back at it tomorrow they will play the Shoreline Sharks U16 at 11 a.m. and Ironbound again at 2 p.m.. Both games will be played at Wesleyan University.
