Vermont Falls for the First Time

Vermont traveled to New Hampton School for a 4:30 pm Lakes Region matchup. It was the second time the Wildcats and Huskies had met this season the first at the Edward G. Watkins Holiday Tournament hosted by Cushing Academy. Vermont won the first meeting 4-0, however, today the Huskies were better. Skodova earned the start in net for the Wildcats, her eleventh of the season.

The Wildcats were not able to generate many scoring opportunities throughout the game as they were shut down by the New Hampton defense. The Wildcats one goal came at the beginning of the third period on a five on three advantage. Lotti Odnoga ’18 found Colgate commit Kristyna Kaltounkova ’20 on the back door for an easy finish. The Wildcats struggled in the remainder of the game to create any quality scoring opportunities. Skodova finished the game with 43 saves on 47 shots.

Vermont is back on the road tomorrow heading down to Winchendon School for a 1:00 pm matchup with the Wapiti.
