OT Thriller vs. Proctor

The Wildcats had ten shots in the first period, however were not able to capitalize on any of the opportunities. Proctor was able to score off of a faceoff win in the last minute of the period.

The second period was filled with end to end play and special teams for both VA and Proctor. Skodova continued to stand tall in net facing six shots.

The third period VA controlled the play and made the Proctor goalie work with sixteen shots on goal. One found the back of the net with seven minutes left in the game. Syd Royce ’18 took a shot from the point that found its way to Jaz Creamer’s ’21 stick, who passed it to Maggie Hodgson ’21 who slid the puck just inside the right post for her second of the season. The two teams battled in the remainder of the game, with Proctor drawing a penalty with ten seconds left. VA headed into OT with a power play.

With five minutes on the clock, VA capitalized within the first minute. Generated off of an offensive zone faceoff Kaltounkova ’20 found the back of the net for the tenth straight game. Skodova finished the game with 20 saves.

The Wildcats are back in action Thursday December 14th, at the Edward G. Watkins Holiday Tournament at Cushing Academy. Their first game is against Cushing Academy, puck drop at 2:30pm.
