Nate Rielly would open the scoring at the 14:18 mark of the second period after a scoreless first period. Pappalardo would score the eventual game winner at the 3:01 mark of the second period.
Vermont would come out firing on all cylinders for the third period. The were knocking on the door with a lot of chance but Proctor's goaltender Ville Laasonen was just tough to beat.
Houston Wilson '16 (Philadelphia, PA) would find a way to crack him. Wilson would pick the Proctor forward's pocket in the defensive zone and he was off to the races. He would carry the puck through the neutral zone with speed, drive the defenseman wide and take a quick shot on net that zipped by Laasonen's ear and in to the top corner of the net.
That would be as close as Vermont (1-5-0 overall, 0-5-0 Lakes Region) but they would battle until the end.
Pappalardo would add his second goal of the night for insurance.
Josh Bolding '16 (Calgary, Alberta) would play outstanding in net for the Wildcats stopping 28 of 31 shots while Laasonen stopped 28 of 29 shots.
Vermont will head to St. Mark's School (Southborough, MA) this coming weekend for their annual Barber Holiday Tournament. Vermont's first game is Friday, December 18 at 7:00 pm versus Kents Hill School.
