Fall Sports & Activities Awards 2024

On Tuesday, November 12, Vermont Academy held the annual Fall Sports and Activities Awards ceremony during Formal Meal in Shepardson Center. The hard work and accomplishments of the students and their coaches/advisors was honored. Each coach had the opportunity to speak on their group’s successes during the past season. The following are the award recipients.
Boys’ JV Soccer
Most Improved Player – Aidan Willett ’25
Most Valuable Player – Kevin Summers ’26
Coaches Award – John Velto ’25

Girls’ JV Soccer
Most Improved Player – Clary Rollet ’27
Most Valuable Player – Callie Spaulding ’27

Intramural Soccer
Most Dedicated – Blake Postles ’26

Wilderness Skills
Three Pillars Award – Nik Dunbar ’27
This award is given to a member of Wilderness Skills who voluntarily takes the lead role in activities providing a strong energy that positively affects the other members of the team.

Muir Award – Andy Darcy ’25
The Muir Award is given to a member of Wilderness Skills who heard the Call of the Wild, answered with a fierce adventurous spirit, and kept close to Nature’s heart (something that Mr. John Muir did).

Angus Black Award – Mauro De La Cruz Oria ’25
This award is presented to the member of the cross country squad who through enthusiasm, diligence, self-sacrifice and team spirit has made the most outstanding contribution to the success of the Cross Country team.

Boys’ Varsity Soccer
Most Improved Player – Tristan Richard ’25
Randall Clair Stevens ’83 Award – Marcos Martinez Loureiro ’25
The Randall Clair Stevens Award is given to a member of the Boys’ Varsity Soccer team who, throughout the season, showed perseverance, dedication, enthusiasm and above all a total love for the sport, traits that Randall exhibited while a member of the VA Varsity Soccer team.

Ole-Petter Worsøe Award – Luis Yunta Bernabeu ’25
This award goes to the soccer player who through leadership, sportsmanship, and competitiveness has contributed the most to the spirit and success of the team.

Captains Award – Iris Adamoli-Puchalik ’25
Allison Lanzetta ’95 Award – Eloise Sicotte ’26
Allison Lanzetta ’95 Award recognizes determination, hard work and unselfish dedication. It goes to the member of the Girls’ Varsity Soccer team who has contributed most to the success of the team. These contributions are measured by their strong leadership in practice and games, and most importantly, by their positive influence on other members of the team.
