On Saturday, February 22 Portsmouth Abbey traveled to Saxtons River, Vermont for a 6:30 p.m. matchup. Being the last home game of the regular season the Wildcats honored the seven seniors for their contributions to Vermont Academy on and off of the ice, with a banquet following the game.
Vermont came ready to play scoring four goals in the first period. Adding two in the second and one in the third to beat the Ravens 7-0. Segui ’21 earned the shutout in net stopping all 18 shots she faced.

#7 Caroline Keller - Caroline “Carol” Keller is a three year senior from Mount Desert, Maine. During her time at VA, she has been a member of the equestrian and field hockey teams, and a proctor in 25 House. Caroline always brings positive energy to the ice and is consistently cheering on her teammates. In three years Caroline has scored seven goals and added 16 assists for a total of 23 points. Next year, she hopes to study business or studio art in college
#8 Kristýna Kaltounková - Kristýna “Kalty” Kaltounková is a three year senior from Vlašim, Czech Republic. While at VA she has been instrumental on the ice as well as the soccer and lacrosse fields. Helping her teams to three NEPSAC Championships (Soccer- 2, Hockey- 1). This season she broke the all-time goals and points records. Kalty is a natural leader, who is always pushing her teammates to perform their best. Next year she will attend Colgate University and play on their women’s ice hockey team. Over three years at VA Kalty has scored 147 goals and added 79 assists for a total of 226 points.
#13 Klará Jandušíková - Klará Jandušíková is a three year senior from Brno, Czech Republic. Over the past three years at VA Klará has been a member of the soccer and lacrosse teams, helping them to three NEPSAC Championships (Soccer- 2, Hockey- 1), as well as excelling
in the classroom. This year she is a captain as well as a proctor in Campbell House. In three years Klará has scored eight goals and added 33 assists for a total of 41 points from the blue line. Next year, she will attend Colby College and be a member of the women’s ice hockey team while she studies Biology and Psychology.
#16 Jordan Loya - Jordan Loya is a four year senior from Long Beach, California. Over her four years at VA she has been a member of the soccer and lacrosse teams, and a proctor in Sturtevant House. She has also participated in our theater program. During her sophomore season, she helped to team to their first-ever NEPSAC Championship. This season she helped lead the team as a captain. In four years she has scored five goals and added 13 assists for 18 total points from the blue line.
#18 Sydnie Rogers - Sydnie “Syd” Rogers is a two year senior from Walpole, New Hampshire just across the river. She has been a member of the soccer and tennis teams at VA. Helping the soccer team to a NEPSAC Championship this fall. Next year she will attend Salem State University and be a member of the women’s ice hockey team. Known for her grittiness in the corners Syd has totaled four points over the last two years off of one goal and three assists.
#21 Gigi Wood - Gigi Wood is a four-year senior hailing from Lake Villa, Illinois. Over the last four years, she has been a member of the equestrian and lacrosse teams. She has also excelled in the classroom with the highest GPA for the class of 2020 during her junior year. Next fall she will be attending Lawrence University majoring in Political Science with the Pre-Law track and will be part of the inaugural women’s hockey team. Over the past four years, she has scored five goals and had 18 assists for a total of 23 points from the blue line.
#29 Ella Tranquada - Ella Tranquada is a one year senior from West Orange, New Jersey. Ella has been a positive member of the team this season, always cheering on her teammates and being supportive. Next year in college Ella will study Medicine, as she prepares to become a doctor in the future.
