Travis Evee '19 Commits to VMI

Wildcat Nation: Why did you choose VMI?
I chose VMI because I felt as if it would be a great opportunity for me. The education that I can gain from VMI is going to last me more than a lifetime. On top of the great education I am able to get VMI gives me the opportunity to follow my dreams of playing D1 basketball and competing at the highest level.

Wildcat Nation: What's it like to be a student-athlete at Vermont Academy?
Being a student athlete at Vermont Academy has been a great experience for me. Representing the VA community on the court has been a great pleasure of mine and something I won't take for granted. After completing my PG year at Vermont Academy I have learned some things such as taking advantage of all my free time during the day, and trying new things and giving those things 100% of my effort.

Wildcat Nation: Who would you like to thank for supporting you up to this point?
I would like to thank both my parents for supporting me and giving me everything I needed to get to this point. Coach Popp, my AAU coaches at Metro Boston, as well as my coaches at BC High have helped me a lot to reach this lifetime goal of mine. Last but not least I would like to thank God for these unbelievable blessings and opportunities.

Wildcat Nation: What have you learned at VA that you will apply at the next level?
I have learned how to manage my time in order to succeed to the best of my abilities in both basketball and in my academics. Being at VA for a year has allowed me to be more independent and continue my hard working traits, two things of which I will apply to my next four years in college.

Wildcat Nation: What does Vermont Academy mean to you?
Vermont Academy means a lot to me. It was a place that gave me an opportunity to obtain my goals. Vermont Academy is a very warm and supporting community and I am glad I was able to spend this past school year here.
