Ferreira And Regan Lead The Way Past roctor
The Vermont Academy boys' hockey stayed on their winning track this evening defeating Proctor Academy 5-1 in a Lakes region match up at Choukas Arena on Vermont Campus. Vermont (5-0-0 Overall, 4-0-0 Lakes Region) got goals from four different skaters led by two goals and an assist from Robbie Ferreira '18 (Salem, NH), not mention the solid play from goaltender Ddylan Regan '19 (Acton, MA). After battling to a 0-0 tie after the first period, Vermont found the back of the net first when Hunter Krasnow '19 (Guilford, CT) beat Proctor goaltender, Ryan Wilson, on a backhander across the crease. This goal would not have happened without the strong play of Mason Cipriano '19 (Wolcott, CT) down low to feed Krasnow the puck in front of the net. Proctor would answer seven minutes later when Cole Joslin found the puck in the scrum around the net and was able to sneak it past Regan. All knotted at one after two periods, Vermont would scored four unanswered goals over the remainder of the game to continue its recent winning ways. Ferreira would open the scoring 2:34 in to the period and the Wildcats would look back. Ferreira would score his second of the night six minutes later. Nick Rashkovsky '19 (Northridge, CA) and Calvin Moise '18 (St. Eustache, Quebec) would add the fourth and fifth goals. Regan would grab his third win of the season after stopping 34 of 35 shots while Wilson takes the loss stopping 23 of 28 shots. Vermont will travel to St. Mark's School on Friday, Dec. 15 for a 7:00 pm match up with Kents Hill School for their first game of the William W. Barber, Jr. Memorial Hockey Tournament.
