Yesterday I went with the freestyle team to Cannon Mtn. for our second Slopestyle competition of the season. We arrived at Cannon early and we were pleasantly surprised that they had gotten around 10 inches of fresh snow, whereas it as raining back at VA. The snow was great and there was so much powder to have fun in. After a few runs the team decided to go into one of Cannons remote gladed trails. We hiked to the top of the saddle and started. I had never skied in so much snow in my life; it was very hard and took long to get through, but when done was one of the best experiences I have had. Even though the slopestyle competition was fun -- VA placed 4th out of 7 teams -- I think everybody on the team can agree that the powder turns were the highlight of the day. - Joe Zobitz '19
