Wildcats Split Pair vs. Winchendon

Vermont Academy came out on a cold, wet day at the Winchendon School to score early and often. John Peloso opened the scoring in the 4' minute. Lucas Calvo Fernandez sent a dangerous ball into the box to find Peloso crashing the back pole. Peloso scored his second of the day in in the 8' minute when Oliver Annson played him in behind the Winchendon defense. Peloso returned the favor in the 15' minute when he found Annson with a long diagonal ball. Annson calmly slotted the ball into the net for his first of the day. Winchendon was able to pull one back in the 30' minute off of a corner kick. Lucas Calvo Fernandez scored the team's fourth of the day in the 40' minute when he expertly chipped the oncoming keeper. The Wildcats continued their strong play in the second half. Connor Morton scored in the 60' minute when he was played in behind by Fernandez. The goal of the game came in the 70' minute. Nathan Smith scored his first of the season with a powerful volley from 25 yards out. It was an all-around solid team performance. Vermont Academy are back in action this Friday, October 30th at Cushing Academy.
