Vermont Academy is joining with fellow independent schools in northern New England to host an in-person gathering in New York City on Thursday, April 7. Hear from alumni from each school as they share their experiences in a variety of industries. Submit your questions for the panelists when you register below!

Moderator: Bruce Barton, Director of College Counseling at Holderness School
Bruce is a long-standing educator and mentor at Holderness. In addition to directing college counseling, Bruce is also an assistant chaplain and a dorm parent, just two of the many roles he has filled since joining the faculty at Holderness School in 1988.

  • Kaedi Butterfield '05 (Proctor Academy), Managing Account Director at Salesforce
    Kaedi is a Managing Account Director at Salesforce, one of the top customer relationship management (CRM) companies. Their cloud-based CRM software brings companies and customers together giving all departments — including marketing, sales, commerce, and service — a single, shared view of every customer.
  • Chris King ’79 (Cardigan Mountain School), Managing Director AIG, UBS, and Credit Suisse
    Chris is an expert in all things finance with more than 30 years of experience in the industry. He holds a BS in economics from Princeton, an MBA from Stern, and a JD from the NYU School of Law. Now retired he serves as a trustee of Cardigan and plays men’s league hockey as often as possible.
  • Vanessa Martinez (Dublin School), Marketing
    Vanessa is an entrepreneurial, passionate, and innovative leader with extensive experience in launching marketing campaigns with a focus on increasing customer acquisition, engagement, and sales across multiple media channels. She has created and launched full-scale marketing programs where none existed prior. She holds a B.A. in Spanish and Theater from Mount Holyoke College and an M.S. in Communications Management from Simmons University. 
  • Matt Neuman '03 (Vermont Academy), Professional Artist
    Matt Neuman is a professional artist living in Brooklyn, NY. He is a passionate maker and a father of two.
  • Jaimin Shan '15 (White Mountain School), Valuation and Analytics Consultant at Deloitte
    Jiamin is a Valuation and Analytics Consultant at Deloitte. His work experience includes Capital Markets Intern in a financial services company in NYC and various internships in Chinese financial institutions. Shan received his M.A of the Financial Mathematics Program at Columbia University in New York City.
  • Amy Synnott '90 (Holderness School), Metaspark Media
    In November 2021, Amy stepped down from her role as Executive Editor of Elle and launched Metaspark Media, a boutique digital consultancy operating at the intersection of fashion, beauty, and tech. In addition to helping brands optimize their editorial content for a digital-first consumer, Amy has helped many companies navigate the rapidly evolving world of NFTs.

New York City has lifted the vaccine and mask requirements. As such, this is a "mask optional" event and all attendees are encouraged to wear a mask, or not, based on personal levels of comfort.
