Wildcats Burn Dragons in Home Opener

Chloe Aurard ’17 opened up the scoring for VA with an unassisted goal just one minute and twenty-one seconds into play The Wildcats never looked back.  Thirty-two seconds into the next shift, we found the back of the net again with Fred Creighton ’18 scoring on an assisted play by Brianna Wood ’17 and Abby Bogovich ’16.  The next goal of the game came with Lotti Odnoga ’18 firing one past the goalie from Kingswood unassisted. On the next shift of the game, Kingswood had a rush on goal and on a bouncy puck was able to put their only goal of the game past net minder Sarah Jacobelli ’19.  To end the period in true fashion, Chloe Aurard found the back of the net again with just fifty-one seconds remaining in the 1st period.  Vermont Academy went into the locker room ahead 4-1 at the end of the 1st period.  The final score of the game was 7-1 for Vermont Academy with other goals in the 2nd period by Chloe Aurard ’17 and Maddie Paydos ’18.  The final period of the game saw only one goal by Fred Creighton ’18 for her second of the game.  Vermont Academy returns to action on Saturday afternoon against Holderness School at home
