Wildcats face St. Paul's School at the net in season opener

John Kelly
Vermont Academy JV boys' tennis opened their season with a tough loss against powerhouse St. Paul's School 0-9. This is the first time the Wildcats have been matched against St. Paul's School, who is a non-Lakes Region competitor. Coming in with a robust and skilled squad, the Pelicans had three previous matches under their belt, compared to VA's three days on the courts barely clear of snow. Despite the loss, there were some bright spots of VA excellence--namely Ryan Qiu playing a hard-fought tiebreaker. Since the loss, the team has been working hard on fundamentals and conditioning. The Wildcats are on the road to Cardigan Mountain School on Wednesday 4/18. Go VA!
