Wildcats Advance to Lakes Region Finals
The Wildcats defeated New Hampton School 2-1 in the Lakes Region semi-finals today.
The Wildcats struck first with Julia Mesplede scoring on a powerplay at the 11:54 mark of the 1st period. New Hampton tied the game at 1-1 with a late goal in the period.
The second period saw the Wildcats generate a number of scoring chances only to be denied by the New Hampton netminder until Riley Walsh was able to find the back of the net with 4:57 to play in the 2nd period.
The third period was a back and forth battle that featured a great effort and sheer determination by the Wildcats to secure the victory.
Maika Paquin was solid in goal for the Wildcats making 18 saves.
