The Wildcats used outstanding defensive play from Emma Morel, Reese Combe, Eva Hofmesiter, and Meg Ognibene, along with terrific goaltending by Maika Paquin to defeat host KUA.
The victory was a great team effort against a very strong KUA squad that played an amazing game. The Wildcats needed all 48 minutes to hold off KUA, with Julia Small scoring the first goal of the game with just over five minutes remaining in the contest to take the 1-0 lead.
The Wildcats were required to kill off several KUA powerplays in the final minutes of the game, including a 5 on 3 KUA advantage before Riley Walsh iced the victory with an empty net game.
