Strong Start Sets Tone for Second Win of the Season

The Wildcats jumped out to an early 2-0 over host Hoosac School with goals by Meagan Spring and Danielle McCarthy, setting the tone for a strong effort and second victory of the season. The Wildcats managed to outshoot Hoosac 21-2 in the first period. 

After Hoosac scored an early goal in the second period to make the score 2-1, the Wildcats responded with three consecutive goals in the period to extend their lead to 5-1. Wildcat goals were scored by Emma Laroche, Danielle McCarthy, her second of the game, and Riley Walsh. Through two games, the Wildcats continue to see good balance from their offensive lines.

The final 16 minutes was an evenly played period between the two teams with no additional scoring. Eva Hofmeister and Brooklyn Pizzimenti were solid on the blueline for the Wildcats. Vermont outshot Hoosac 57-12 for the game. Maika Paquin earned her second win of the season and was sharp when called upon.

The Wildcats travel to the Exeter Academy tournament this weekend for three games.
