Vermont Academy Welcomes Bo Oshoniyi as Director of Soccer, Head Coach of Boys Soccer, and Associate Director of Admissions

Vermont Academy is pleased to welcome Bo Oshoniyi as Director of Soccer, Head Coach of the Boys Soccer Program, and Associate Director of Admissions.

Bo joins Vermont Academy with an impressive background in collegiate athletics, player development, and educational leadership. Most recently, he served as Head Coach at Dartmouth College, one of the nation's premier Ivy League institutions. Throughout his career, he has also coached at several nationally respected Division I programs, including Wake Forest University, Penn State University, the University of South Florida, and East Tennessee State University. In addition, he has worked with United States Youth National Teams, helping identify and develop some of the country's most promising young players.

As a player, Bo competed at both the collegiate and professional levels, earning recognition for his leadership, competitive excellence, and commitment to team success. His experiences as both an elite player and coach provide him with a unique perspective that resonates deeply with aspiring student-athletes pursuing ambitious goals on and off the field.

Known for his energy, authenticity, and ability to build meaningful relationships, Bo has built a reputation for developing talented student-athletes while fostering cultures centered on accountability, resilience, discipline, and teamwork. His coaching philosophy emphasizes helping students maximize their potential while preparing them for meaningful lives beyond the game.

As Director of Soccer and Head Coach of the Boys Program, Bo will lead the continued growth of Vermont Academy soccer, helping student-athletes pursue excellence on the field while preparing them for success in college and beyond. He will play a central role in recruitment, player development, college placement, and cultivating a program culture that challenges students to strive for their highest potential.

In his role as Associate Director of Admissions, Bo will work closely with prospective students and families, helping communicate the distinctive opportunities that define the Vermont Academy experience. His passion for mentorship, relationship-building, and community engagement makes him a natural fit for this important leadership role.

While Bo's coaching credentials are exceptional, what ultimately distinguished him throughout the search process was his vision for the role athletics can play in a young person's life. He speaks often about helping students become not only better soccer players, but also better teammates, students, sons, husbands, fathers, and leaders. His belief that meaningful growth happens through challenge, accountability, mentorship, and community reflects the very best of Vermont Academy and the values that define our approach to education.

"Bo brings a remarkable combination of elite soccer experience, educational values, and a genuine commitment to helping young people grow," said Head of School Mike Peller. "His experience leading at the highest levels of the game certainly stood out. But what resonated most with me was his belief that coaching is about far more than winning matches or championships. Bo talks often about helping young men become better teammates, students, sons, husbands, fathers, and leaders. He understands that athletics can be one of the most powerful classrooms for character development, and that philosophy aligns beautifully with Vermont Academy's mission. We are thrilled to welcome him to our community."

Please join us in welcoming Bo and his family to the Vermont Academy community.
