Becca joined students from across the country for an immersive introduction to life at the U.S. Military Academy, participating in leadership exercises, military training, physical challenges, and team building activities led by current and former cadets and military personnel.

Sadlon said her favorite part of the experience was meeting students from diverse backgrounds and hearing their stories, she was especially struck by how quickly complete strangers came together as a cohesive team. "Leadership is not about being in charge, it is about being someone others can count on," Sadlon said, a lesson she considers the program's greatest takeaway.

A member of Vermont Academy's Girls Varsity Ice Hockey team and Strength & Conditioning program, Sadlon also serves as a Proctor, 9th Grade Mentor, Tour Guide, and Environmental Club member. With aspirations of becoming a military officer and pilot, she said the Summer Leaders Experience strengthened her commitment to pursuing a service academy education.
