Close competition against Proctor Academy

Lauren Goll
On October 17th the Vermont Academy equestrian team drove to Proctor Academy for a dressage competition which consisted of two different divisions. The first division was the walk trot canter group. Riding for VA was Hannah Sethi ‘20, Gigi Wood ‘20 and Caroline Keller ‘20. Hannah Sethi ‘20 rode first on Fable. She rode the test very amazingly well making no mistakes which earned her a first place in the walk trot canter division. Gigi Wood ‘20 rode second for VA and she also rode Fable. She rode her dressage test well and placed fifth. Caroline Keller ‘20 rode third for VA on a horse called Thomas. She rode her dressage test wonderfully and placed third. The next division was the walk trot test. Alan Wang ‘19 closed up the show with a beautifully ridden dressage test on Tilly which placed her second in the walk trot division. With great rides from all members of the VA team it was a close call but VA lost by one point. It was a good experience for the VA equestrian team and a fun day! The day ended with a quick warm-up stop at Dunkin Donnuts before making the ride back to VA.
Reported by sidelined team member Lauren Goll'20 - we hope her knee heals soon!
