McDonald Plays Strong Making 58 Saves
Vermont Academy boys hockey team traveled to Northfield Mount Hermon today to play an afternoon matinee. Vermont (11-12-4 Overall, 5-3-1 Lakes Region) was behind the eight ball all night playing catch up and just could not seem to get anything going.

NMH got on the board first just 90 second in when Kyle Kazeroid beat Vermont's goaltender Brandon McDonald '18 (Santa Clarita, CA) on a straight shot from the left side of the slot. The rest of the period did see some chance for Vermont but NMH would outshoot Vermont 25-11. NMH would take a 1-0 lead in to the intermission.

NMH would score two goals in the second period to extend their lead to 3-0. The goals would come at the 12 minute mark by Ben Hamilton and the second would be with 16 seconds left when Sean Heffron. NMH would take that 3-0 lead in the locker room for the second intermission.

The final period would be dominated but NMH Vermont's team defense was solid and so was McDonald as the two tams would go scoreless in the period. The final score would be 3-0.

NMH goaltender, Eric Green would grab a shutout while making 16 saves and McDonald would make 58 saves in a losing effort.

Vermont will be back in action on Wednesday, February 7 at 4:30 pm as they will host Stanstead College at Choukas Arena.
