The Line of John Kondub '19 (Monroe, CT), John Peloso '19 (Townshend, VT and Tanner Dalton '17 (Bakersfield, CA) combines for eight points on the Vermont five goals this evening at Brown University versus Moses Brown School in Providence, RI.
Moses Brown struck first 7:27 into the game when forward Adam Towey picked up a loose puck in front of Brandon McDonald '18 (Santa Clarita, CA) and beat him high to his glove side. This would be the only time Moses Brown would solve McDonald all night.
Vermont would bounce back when Kondub picked off a cross ice pass in Moses Brown's defensive zone and went to the net. Kondub would slide a pass back door to Peloso who beat Moses Brown Goaltender Connor Bitterman to tie the game. This how the period would finish, tied at one.
Kondub would strike quick to start the second period when he beat Bitterman 1:57 into the period off of a Peloso rebound. 5:02 later Peloso would reap the benefits of a beautiful cycle from Kondub and Dalton. The Wildcats would take a 3-1 lead in to the second intermission.
Minutes in to the third period Ethan Wing '17 (Nantucket, MA) deflected a highlight reel pass from Calvin Moise '18 (St. Eustache, QUE). Moise received a breakout pass from Patrick Ogden '19 (Ridgefield, CT) and streaked down the wing and feathered the puck between defenders and on Wing's stick and all he had to do was touch it to the net. It was beautiful. And Vermont's final tally of the night came from Dalton. Tyus Watson-Tummings '17 (Montreal, QUE) did a great job to protect the puck and fire a puck on net. New Moses Brown goaltender, Hunter Gervais, would make the save but kicked it right to Dalton who made no mistakes.
McDonald would make 17 saves on 18 shots for the victory while Bitterman and Gervais would combine for 29 saves on 34 shots in the loss.
Vermont (13-9-1 overall, 1-6-1 Lakes Region)will travel to the Hoosac School tomorrow for a 4:00 pm game at the North Adams, MA public arena.
