The Wildcats of Vermont Academy and Kimball Union Academy met on Wednesday night for a Lakes Region tilt, with Vermont Academy earning a hard fought 4-2 victory. Lead by Maika Paquin's 37 saves and contributions from all seventeen skaters, VA was able to hold off KUA for their seventh win of the season.
Vermont Academy jumped out to a first period 2-0 lead on goals by Riley Walsh and Liv Brooks. KUA closed the margin to 2-1 in the second period, but goals by Walsh and Brooks again in the third period secured the victory for Vermont Academy.
The Wildcats are right back at it on Friday night, in another Lake Region contest skating against a strong Brewster Academy team.
