  • Tough loss at Proctor

The game started even as neither team got one in the net in the first 10 minutes. Vermont struck first in the middle of the first. Unfortunately, Proctor stormed back, scoring 6 unanswered goals in a tough 1-6 Loss for the Wildcats. Player of the game goes to Owen for scoring our only goal of the game and his first as a member of the team.

  • VA team wins at Holderness

The boys were ready to bounce back against a hard-hitting Holderness team after dropping one against Proctor. The game was locked up throughout the whole show, with neither team giving any room for error. It was 2-2 in the third as Jeff Simon '20 potted one to bring it to 3-2. The Cats were able to hold on to the end on the strength of some amazing saves by netminder Mike Libutti. Goals scored by Patrick Starkey, Svent Bossart (off of a beauty of a pass from Ben Matte), and Jeff with the game winner. This dub brings our record to 3-1

  • Williston game

The boys were confident strolling into Williston Northampton's rink after a great win against Holderness. Unfortunately, Williston opened the scoring early and never let up. Despite strong play from the lads and Owen's second goal with the team, the boys dropped the game 1-5 and brought our record to 3-2. We're still confident with our Holderness rematch on the horizon and hope to maintain our winning record.

  • Hockey - JV Boys

    2018 - 2019
    Head Coach: Richard Senerchia

The Vermont Academy Boys Junior Varsity Ice Hockey program is open to players of any level, although as numbers have improved in recent years, the team is developing into a true feeder program for the varsity squad. We encourage participation from newcomers and experienced players alike, focusing on individual skill development as well as team chemistry and sportsmanship. We play a schedule of 15 games against some of the region’s top prep school teams, such as KUA, Holderness, Cardigan, Eaglebrook, and Proctor, among others. As the season progresses, players learn a number of offensive and defensive systems in an effort to improve their “hockey I.Q.” and develop a better sense of positioning on the ice. Most importantly, this team shares a love for the game and a desire to work hard and improve every day.
