Q & A with Jack
Number: 2
Position: G
Hometown: Shelburne, VT

Wildcat Nation: Why did you choose St. Lawrence University?
I chose St. Lawrence because I felt at home in the community and I felt an instant connection with a lot of the people that I met on my visit. The coaches also told me that I would make an immediate impact on the team being a main contributor.

Wildcat Nation: What's it like to be a student-athlete at Vermont Academy?
Being a student-athlete at Vermont Academy was a big transition in my life, it has prepared me for the next level as it will be a similar style of living in college.

Wildcat Nation: Who would you like to thank for supporting you up to this point?
At this point in my career, some of the people that have been there for me since I started playing basketball have been my mom, sister, and mentor Mike Trimboli, who played at UVM and has been my trainer for 12 years. Coach Matt Elkin, who was the assistant at VA last year, is also an important figure in my basketball career. However, none of this would have happened without my father who passed away when I was 13. I play every game for him.

Wildcat Nation: What have you learned at VA that you will apply at the next level?
I have learned how to better manage my time between school and basketball, and I will take those skills on to college.

Wildcat Nation: What does Vermont Academy mean to you?
Attending Vermont Academy has been one of the biggest transitions in my life so far. It was difficult to leave my last school and community, however, I am very grateful I was given the opportunity to come here and play for a very prestigious program. I will always look at these past two years as a time of growth both academically and athletically.

Wildcat Nation: What does this opportunity represent for you and your family?
This opportunity to attend St Lawrence means a lot to me and my family. I was awarded the Presidential Scholar Award and received $20,000 each semester. I am glad that through basketball I am able to help my family pay for tuition.
