6-1 Win at NMH

On Saturday afternoon the Wildcats traveled south to face off against the Hoggers of Northfield Mount Hermon. Puck drop was slated for 4:30 p.m on a chilly February day. 

Both teams came out strong in the first period with back and forth play until the Hoggers capitalized first about seven minutes into the game. However, the Wildcats responded quickly with a goal from Bazin ’22 from Citera ’21 and Wood ’20. This was Bazin’s first career goal. Jandusikova ’20 added another shortly after off of a faceoff win by Fortier ’21. Kaltounkova ’20 increased Vermont’s lead to two late in the period. Jandusikova ’20 had the assist. 

In the second and third periods, the Wildcats added another three goals to ultimately beat the Hoggers 6-1. Goals were from Kaltounkova ’20 (2) and Walsh ’22 and assists from Keller ’20, Small ’23 (2), Kaltounkova ’20, Jandusikova ’20 and D. McCarthy ’22. Segui ’21 made 32 saves in net for her seventh win of the season. 

Vermont heads into a busy four-game week with a rescheduled game on Monday at Pingree in South Hamilton, Massachusetts. Puck drop is scheduled for 4:50 p.m.
