Home Opener Win Over Hoosac
On Sunday, January 19th the Wildcats held their home opener in Choukas Arena. The Hoosac School traveled to Saxtons River for a 2 p.m. matchup.
Minutes into the game Brooks ’23 opened up the scoring off a feed from D. McCarthy ’22. Halfway through the period D. McCarthy ’22 added another from classmate Powers ’22. The Wildcats led 2-0 after the first period. The second period was filled with back and forth play though neither team was able to capitalize on their opportunities. In the third Kaltounkova ’20 scored twice to double the Wildcats lead. The first was a tip-off of a Wood ’20 shot from the point. The second and last goal of the game was a slap shot from just outside of the blue line. Segui ’21 earned the shutout in net stopping all 12 shots she faced.
The Wildcats are back in action on Wednesday with another home game vs. Lakes Region rival Kimball Union. Puck drop is slated for 4:30 p.m.
