First Win of 2020

The Wildcats traveled to St. Paul’s School on Wednesday afternoon for a neutral site matchup with Kents Hill School. Puck drop for the first game of the decade was slated for 3 p.m. 

Vermont came out strong scoring three goals in the first period. 1: Creamer ’21 from Keller ’20 and Citera ’21, 2: Small ’23 assisted by Kaltounkova ’20, 3: Creamer ’21 from Citera ’21. The Huskies were able to bury a goal late in the first to make the score 3-1 heading into the locker room. The second period was filled with back and forth play, with both goalies standing tall and allowing zero goals. In the third period, Vermont was able to add a final goal by Small ’23 assisted by Walsh ’22 and Jandusikova ’20. 

Paquin ’22 earned the win for the Wildcats, stopping nine of the ten shots that she faced. The Wildcats put 45 shots on the Kents Hill goalie. 

Vermont is back in action on Friday, January 10th as they travel to Holderness for a Lakes Region matchup. The game is set for 4:30 at Fiore Rink.
