September Wildcats of the Month

Sydnie Rogers ’20, Maurice Day '21, Quincy Green '22 and Susannah Pennell '23
Congratulations to Vermont Academy's Wildcats of the Month, the key contributors to Vermont Academy's athletic and afternoon activities programs for September 2019.

Syd is a determined player that works just as hard in practice as she does in games. She brings energy, spunk, and a determined work ethic to everything that she does. She has been a driving force for us in midfield and I commend her on her efforts. - Ms. Katie Stames, Head Coach, Girls’ Varsity Soccer

Maurice has ridden hard all summer so he could come into the season strong. It paid off with a win in our opening race at Proctor and 4th at our home race. Maurice also finished 3rd in his division at the VT50 and last weekend won another Lakes Region race in Division B at KUA Maurice, also shares his knowledge of bike repair and maintenance with his teammates. - Mr. John Kelly, Head Coach, Mountain Biking

I would like to nominate Quincy Green for his amazing ability to adapt to a new sport. He has had an incredible start to the season and has quickly made it into the top boy’s boat where he is keeping up with athletes that have been rowing for much longer than he has. - Mr. David Naughton, Head Coach, Crew

From preseason on, Susannah demonstrated commendable efforts in every practice and all our races. She is passionate about running and her enthusiasm is infectious and motivational for many of her teammates. - Mr. Alexei Sotskov, Head Coach, Cross Country
