Vermont Academy kicked off the season on the road against an experienced Wilbraham & Monson side. The Wildcats started the game well with a goal in the early minutes. They defended that lead through the first half with decent chances for both sides. Still getting to full match fitness, tired legs were evident in the second half. Wilbraham was able to capitalize on all three of their opportunities to start the second half. The Wildcats showed grit to get a goal back in the 75 minute. Vermont pushed hard for the tying goal in the final minutes even seeing one chance hit the woodwork. Unfortunately, the Wildcats were unable to find the equalizer before the final whistle.
