Why did you choose LIU-Brooklyn?

I chose LIU Brooklyn because on my visit I loved everything about the school, as well as the guys on the team and the whole coaching staff. It was easy for me to picture myself there for the next four years.

What's it like being a student-athlete at VA?

I love being a student-athlete at VA because I have all the support I need in the classroom and on the basketball court.

Who would you like to thank for supporting up to this point?

I definitely want to thank my Mom, Dad, Sister, and my whole family. Also my friends and of course the whole Vermont Academy community.

What have you learned at VA that you will apply at the next level?

VA has taught me to be a more independent student and person. I have learned to trust myself in making decisions.

What does VA mean to you?

VA means family to me. When I first arrived last year I was nervous, but the students and faculty made it a very easy adjustment.

What does this opportunity represent for you and your family?

This opportunity I have been blessed with means everything to my family and I. Some of them have sacrificed for me so I can be where I am today. We are all just so grateful to be on this journey together.

Head Boys' Basketball Coach, Alex Popp said, “Jake '20 is the 20th boys' basketball player to accept a full athletic scholarship since 2015. At 6-foot-10, Jake has a rare blend of athleticism, motor, and skill.  Beyond his physical attributes, he is an excellent teammate. Jake prioritizes relationships, and I know he will be a great success at the D1 level because of this.”
