Thaw: A Conversation in Words and Imagery Show

Thaw: A Conversation in Words and Imagery, artist Evie Lovett and poet Diana Whitney draw inspiration from the Connecticut River.
From the artists, “we share our points of intersection on the muse of the River, as friends and fellow artists. The project consists of encaustic paintings by Evie Lovett, poems by Diana Whitney, and a video installation created by Evie as a backdrop for a live poetry reading by Diana."

The show will be exhibited in Horowitz for the Spring Trimester. Diana & Evie will present part of their video in community meeting the first week of the trimester and Diana will be a writer-in-residence in the English department the rest of that week.

For more information, the paintings and Artist Statement can be found here. A featured poem can be read here. We’ve created two short videos of Diana reading her poems Summer Injury and Geography, which give a sense of the interplay between words and imagery. Come check out the show in Horowitz Hall this spring!
