Headway Foundation’s Concussion Awareness Week

This year both Boys’ and Girls’ Varsity Hockey teams will be participating in the Headway Foundation Concussion Awareness Week from January 28th to February 3rd, 2019.
The goal of the Concussion Awareness week is to promote a safer sports culture surrounding concussions by spreading awareness and providing educational resources for student-athletes and parents. For more information on the Headway Foundation, click here.

The girls will wear the Headway stickers on February 1st and 2nd in their home games against the Hill School and NMH, the boys will wear theirs on the 2nd in their home game versus NMH.

The teams are putting together a short video in conjunction with the Morning Mist to raise awareness about concussions, as well as encouraging their friends and teammates to take the New Tough Pact. Coach Poole said, “I think this is a great opportunity for our players to realize the severity of concussions and the long-lasting effects that they can have. I am excited that together with the boys’ team we can raise awareness on this issue and shift the culture surrounding concussions.”
