New National Honor Society Inductees

The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
At Vermont Academy tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grade students are eligible to apply after the first trimester. The criteria includes a minimum of a 3.3 grade point average (GPA), at least 15 hours of community service, an essay, and demonstrations of leadership and character.

This year the National Honor Society Faculty Committee is excited to announce 15 new members to Vermont Academy’s Chapter. NHS advisor Ms. Cynthia Murphy said, “all members must demonstrate exemplary scholarship, leadership, service, and character, the four pillars of NHS, this particular group of students embodies all of these characteristics each in their own way.”
