December Wildcats of the Month

Riley Walsh '22, Maurice Day ’21, Taylor Hennum ’20, and Saige Roberts ’19

Congratulations to Vermont Academy's Wildcats of the Month, the key contributors to Vermont Academy's athletic and afternoon activities programs for December 2018.
Riley Walsh ’22
Riley is working hard getting stronger and smarter in the way she plays. She is coming up with big goals at keys times in many of our games. Riley is a spark of energy for our team on and off the ice.
-- Chris Ardito, Head Coach, Girls’ Varsity Hockey

Maurice Day ’21
Maurice is diligently embracing the challenge of snowboard competition by preparing at each practice and pushing himself to new heights in both of the disciplines we compete in, freestyle and racing.
-- John Kelly, Head Coach, Snowboarding

Taylor Hennum ’20
Taylor is the ultimate devotee of freeskiing, and for all the right reasons. Taylor shows up every single day in search of the feeling he gets when he skis, the fulfillment he gets when he learns
something new, and for the opportunity to be outside, alive, and a part of a group that is all striving for the same things, individually. Taylor leads this group, whether he knows it or not, simply by showing up and being himself.
-- Chris Marks, Head Coach, Freeski

Saige Roberts ’19
In our first 8 games of the season, Saige has lead the girls’ varsity basketball team to a 7-1 record. She has lead the team in scoring in 7 of our 8 games averaging 23 points per game...including a 32 point performance in a win over the reigning B class champions, Pomfret.
In that game, Saige hit a program record 8 three-pointers. However, it has been Saige’s leadership and positive attitude that have made her invaluable to the team. Her motivation and drive are infectious and makes those around her better.
-- Karen Henry, Head Coach, Girls’ Varsity Basketball
