Tie against Holderness at home

On Friday December 7th, your Vermont Academy Wildcats Boys Varsity Hockey Team would host part one of the two game series against the Holderness Blue Bulls.
Our Boys Varsity entered this contest with an overall record of 0-4-0 looking for their first and much needed win of the season. Holderness entered this contest with an overall record of 3-1-0 with wins coming against Hebron, Brewster, & Academy-St. Louis. Both teams would be held scoreless through two periods of play. The game's first goal would be scored by Vermont Academy's own Senior #15 Nick Rashkovsky with assists coming from Seniors #8 John Kondub, and #19 John Peloso. These three players are quickly coming together as a line and have provided much of the offense for Vermont Academy early in the season. The Wildcats would spend the majority of the third period on the power play with the Holderness racking up 10+ total penalty minutes including a 5 on 3, but would not capitalize on this opportunity to take the game over. After killing off their penalties Holderness would tie the game with a little over 5 minutes remaining in the game with a goal from Tim Manning. Tim Manning was all over the score sheet taking 4 penalties prior to notching this game up at 1-1. Both teams would enter the 5 minute overtime period, although neither would score. The game ended in a tie, as both teams picked up 1 point for their efforts.
