Global Leadership Summer Symposium: A Global Experience On Our Hilltop

Vermont Academy is excited to host 49 middle-school and high-school students from China, Spain, Chile, and the United States for a 15-day Global Leadership Summer Symposium.
Students will experience the independent school education model of academics taught by our Vermont Academy faculty members. Course selection includes: ESL, Model UN, Environmental Sustainability, Digital Art, Pottery, and Painting. Time in the classroom will be balanced with a chance to experience a variety of athletics including ultimate frisbee, soccer, basketball, and outdoor leadership activities. Each day will conclude with residential life programs and other group activities.

In addition, students will gain global leadership experience and skills facilitated through field trips and workshops such as current event debates, cultural expo, international community dinner, and hiking Mount Monadnock. The last component of this experience is a chance to participate in our Saxtons River community by doing various community service projects with local residents and organizations.

Toward the end of their time on campus, our Admissions team will host workshops and conduct interviews for students who are interested in applying to become full-time Vermont Academy students. The program will conclude with a day trip to Boston visitng Harvard University and exploring Boston in small groups with our Vermont Academy faculty.
