Global Leadership Summer Symposium

August 1 - August 16, 2017

Vermont Academy’s Global Leadership Summer Symposium is an academic and global leadership program for rising 8th through 12th grade girls and boys from around the world. Vermont Academy, a leader in global education, has designed a global leadership program that provides students from countries including the United States, Chile, China, and Spain with an engaging and fun environment to discover and practice different leadership styles, discuss global and environmental issues, share cultures, immerse in the arts, and participate in team sports.

Students will benefit by:

Participating in team activities lead by field guides from Vertical; experts in leadership development and coaching

Engaging in experiential learning in environmental sustainability, behavioral economics, and choice architecture to design and implement school-wide public policies and projects

Forming a symposium Model UN to discuss current global issues

Joining guided tours and attending workshops at Harvard University and MIT

Producing and sharing projects in painting, drawing, and photography

Developing trust and teamwork through sports and outdoor activities
Vermont Academy’s Global Leadership Summer Symposium provides students with the opportunity to experience our academic, arts, athletic, and residential life programs, while nurturing leadership skills through hands-on learning activities.

Students will learn about new cultures, enrich their global perspectives, and make new friends from around the world. Participants will also:

• Gain leadership abilities
• Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Understand globalization to a fuller extent
